Considering we've spent a lot of time this quarter discussing topics such as identity, self-compassion, and resilience, I thought I'd recommend the artistic work of a dear friend of mine, Molly Baker.
Molly is a wonderful individual and an extremely talented photographer, and I recommend checking out their Facebook page: "Molly Baker Photography." In particular, I'd take a look at Molly's "Wash Away" projects, which I've mentioned in class. In the project, participants were asked to choose and reflect on a word that represented a personal struggle. In the case of The "Wash Away" Project Part 2, participants were also asked to write a reflection on their word to accompany their photos. First as an observer, and later as a participant, I've found Molly's work to be absolutely inspirational. I believe that being vulnerable and sharing our stories and struggles is extremely important because it allows us to see how similar we all are at the base of things. I know the project has touched a lot of people's lives, and I highly recommend you take a look at her work.
