Application of Learning in the OMIS Major:

Fulfillment of Objective One:

  1. Deliver strategic value to contemporary organizations by their mastery of state-of-the-art information technology and quantitative and analytical methods, acquired through courses such as E-business Technologies and Applications, Business Intelligence, and Operations Management.

OMIS 108 provided some of the most practical and hands-on learning I've had at Santa Clara. This Operations and Management class touched on the very heart of my major and even gave us an opportunity to use our skills in the real world.

Real world application is extremely important to me.

My Experience at Le Boulanger

My group was able to put our learning to the test through an OPMAN anaylsis of the popular Le Boulanger bakery in Sunnyvale, California. Through the use of Operations Management, we were able to assess the efficiency and operations of the factory. Management was happy to work with us and may have even learned some things from our suggestions.

Our project even brought us to the production floor, See the photos below~

It's comforting to know that SCU has put me in situtations where I can apply my knowledge.
