By using this site, you agree to comply with University policies, including Santa Clara University’s Student Handbook and the Network and Communication Acceptable Use Policy and Guidelines regarding the use of university network and communications equipment, facilities, resources, and networks, as well as all applicable laws, including those prohibiting copyright and trademark infringement.

You further agree to abide by the terms and conditions under which you may use the ePortfolio system. Please read this page carefully. By using this site, you are bound by these terms and conditions.

Permissions and Privacy

You understand that when working in Digication, you need to make choices in the "Permissions Settings" for each e-Portfolio. Otherwise, by default, anyone accessing the University’s Digication site will be able to view materials that you place in your e-Portfolio.

You understand that you may use Digication privacy settings to establish the range of viewers who will have access to one or more of your e-portfolios. You may also either use the "Hide" feature of the e-Portfolio, or choose not to publish certain information to retain privacy of some pages while making others public.

Sensitive personal information and data, such as social security numbers and other forms of personal identification, should never be posted in an ePortfolio. SCU assumes no responsibility for any use made of sensitive personal information and data posted in an ePortfolio.

User Responsibilities and Rights

As the user and creater of your ePortfolio(s), you are responsible for the material contained within your ePortfolio(s) as well as the consequences for posting such material. You may not upload, publish or post the following in any ePortfolio:

* Material that is copyrighted, unless you are the copyright owner or have the written permission of the copyright owner to post it.
* Files that contain images, photographs, software or other material that infringes on any intellectual property rights of others or on the privacy or publicity rights of others.
* Material that is threatening, harassing, obscene, defamatory, abusive, racist, vulgar, unlawful, or hateful.

Content posted to your ePortfolio, whether intended for academic, personal or professional use, must adhere to the same standards of respectful discourse expected in all campus activities as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. Santa Clara University assumes no responsibility for any content posted and any liability resulting from the posted content is the responsibility of the user. You are responsible for maintaining your ePortfolio content, including any necessary changes or updates.

Should SCU receive any complaints about the content posted to an ePortfolio created with an SCU account, the university reserves the right to remove the ePortfolio from the system, revoke the user’s ePortfolio privileges, and refer the student to the Dean of Students Office for appropriate action.

Santa Clara University also reserves the right to alter or change these terms and conditions at any time, in which case users will be notified upon logging into Digication and asked to agree to the new terms.
